Both Marvel Cinematic Universe actors Tom Holland and Chris Hemsworth were far from home recently when both were spotted in Bali.
Avid Spider-Man fans first learned about 22-year-old English actor Tom’s visit to the Indonesian Island when he uploaded a video of himself on Twitter. The video promoted his ongoing fan competition and featured a quick mention of being en-route to Bali.
“…We’re officially on our way to Bali for the next step of the press tour,” Tom said.
It didn’t take long for word to spread, and fans flocked to the airport to record footage of him exiting his plane in Bali. Other social media posts showed Tom posing with fans for photos on one of Bali’s beautiful beach.
Aside from meeting fans, a Kompas.com report says Tom was partaking in Sony Pictures film workshops and screenings over two days to promote Spider-Man: Far From Home – his upcoming movie which is due for release in July.
The new film follows on from Avengers: Endgame, where Spider-Man must step up and take on new threats in a new, changed world.
Australian Actor Chris Hemsworth is also another Marvel Cinematic Universe actor that has graced the shores of Bali. Chris, best known for Thor, recently arrived in Bali as well. The word on the street is that Chris was there to promote his upcoming movie Men In Black: International – a film that Sony Pictures released in June.
Chris Hemsworth has been adding more and more notches to his belt, with his new film the cherry on top. He first starred in the Australian soap opera Home and Away as Kim Hyde from 2004 until 2007, before appearing in the science fiction film Star Trek and thriller-adventure film A Perfect Getaway – both in 2009.
His next film in 2012, The Cabin in the Woods, was a horror comedy, and he then moved on to dark fantasy action with Snow White and the Huntsman. Chris is also well known for Red Dawn, Rush, and his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tom Holland, on the other hand, is a little fresher to the movie scene. Tom is an actor and dancer, graduating from BRIT School in London. He played Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with five films under his belt so far.
In 2008, Tom also played the role of Billy Elliot in Billy Elliot the Musical in 2008 in London’s West End. Other significant film appearances include The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea, and The Lost City of Z. He has signed on to star in The Devil All the Time and Onward, and with voicing roles coming up in 2019 and 2020.
